This is so bittersweet! We have enjoyed recording episodes of the Deal With It podcast oh so very much and we are sad to say goodbye. It comes with heavy hearts that we announce that this is officially the last episode. But what an amazing run it has been! We are so grateful for all the amazing listeners, guests and honest and open discussions about mental and physical health conditions we have shared over the last year and a half. We hope this podcast episode answers any questions you may have about our decision. We know it’s been a while since we have recorded and we wanted to fill everyone in. Nicole also has Marfan Syndrome and is an adorable, fun, silly, hilarious tall ball of joy. Nicole shares her diagnosis story and she compares notes with Andy. We talk about the genetic test for Marfan Syndrome and how Marfan Syndrome is a part of our identity. We share surgery stories and surgery experiences. We talk improvisation and Nicole talks about how she taught her students how to improvise too! Nicole leaves us with a super secret special “quiet pooping” technique, you won’t want to miss.

Laura is also very involved with fighting for indigenous rights and she talks about how her heart was calling her to the North Dakota Access Pipeline. She shares her experiences about what was really going on at and during the protests.

We’re recording again today from Acme Comedy Club in Minneapolis with Joleen’s mom, Eileen Lunzer.  This episode Joleen and Eileen explore their relationship with each other, as well as their relationship with alcohol and addiction. They share stories and we ask questions and provide some insight into the journey to sobriety. We talk about the role alcohol plays in our lives and we talk about what defines an alcoholic. Eileen also talks about a new desire to try eating pot brownies and we talk about the slippery slope that marijuana can play in sobriety. We share some words of wisdom and we share our hope for a future where addiction isn’t stigmatized and is more understood.
