Posted on Posted in episodes

Comedian JF Harris joins us to talk about dyslexia, foot surgery, cerebral palsy, and alcoholism. We dive into the myths about dyslexia and how JF wrote a movie script to combat some of the challenges with writing and reading he has faced. He talks about his path to becoming a comedian instead of a firefighter and he also shares about how having mild cerebral palsy affected his childhood in surprising ways and how yoga has impacted his health as an adult. Joleen and JF share their experiences with telling jokes about drinking problems and the ways audiences and friends react to being around recovering alcoholics and we leave you with some inspiration and advice.

At the top of the episode, Andy shares her current battle with health insurance and we talk about our fears and hopes for the future of healthcare

Memorable Moments:

“I brought my wand to A LOT of shows.”

“Drinking is like a vacation in a bottle. My problem is that I wanted to live in Jamaica.”
